About Us

  •      Welcome to Sigma Alpha at the University of Arizona. The ladies of the Alpha Rho chapter are delighted to offer you a glimpse into what our sorority is all about.

Sigma Alpha is a professional, agriculture sorority dedicated to scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship. The sorority was founded in 1978 at the Ohio State University. Since that time, Sigma Alpha has become a national organization consisting of more than 80 chapters, comprised of undergraduate and alumnae members. Today, more than 6,000 members have been initiated into Sigma Alpha Sorority. The Alpha Rho chapter was founded in 2001 and over 70 ladies have been initiated into the Alpha Rho chapter since then.

The ladies of Sigma Alpha come from all around the country. We come from a variety of majors and are studying in numerous fields.  All the ladies are involved in other organizations around campus. One day our members will be veterinarians, doctors, teachers, lawyers, microbiologists, senators, zoologists, geneticists, and the list goes on. We all have such different backgrounds, but together we are all Sigma Alpha sisters.

Thank you for your interest in Sigma Alpha. Please feel free to look around our website and get to know our sorority and our sisters.
